Mrs. Courtney Latter To All Instructors

I am so excited to be a part of Academy At the Creek. All three of my kids attend the co-op and my husband is one of the pastor's at Creekside Church where our co-op meets. I have homeschooled my own children for 6 years now and I love that homeschooling gives each child the ability to meet their highest potential without being constrained by traditional schooling parameters.

I have a bachelors of science in Biomedical Science from the University of South Florida and have taught in many capacities including bible studies (middle school,high school and adult), american sign language adult classes, and High School science classes. I've also had the immense privilege of helping both my own children and students in my classes work through dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD and auditory processing disorders among others. I’ve had the chance to watch struggling learners, accelerated learners and traditional learners all succeed in science. I believe that all students can excel and I desire to come alongside you as the parents and partner with you to help support your child’s learning journey.

I love science, exploring God's world and gaining understanding of His creation. I have often heard from students and adults `I didn't like science' and I truly believe that is because it wasn't presented in the right way and/or they weren’t given the opportunity to find their science niche. Science is a multidisciplinary subject and there are so many ways to help a student learn to love the subject. Whether your student likes animals (biology/zoology), mixing things together (chemistry), exploring the world around them (biology/zoology/botany), dreaming of making a machine work on its' own (physics), gardening (biology/botany), digging in the dirt (geology), dinosaurs (paleontology), or many more there is an area of science for your child. I can't wait to come alongside them (and you as the parent) to help them learn and enjoy the scientific world that God created.
