Mrs. Alexa Steger To All Instructors
I am an experienced upper elementary teacher who loves to teach writing. I am originally from Scotland and live in Wesley Chapel with my husband, two daughters, and my basset hound (my baby). I spent five years in public education, teaching 3rd-5th grade, and before that, I worked in private schools, including Montessori, with K-1 students.
I have a passion for helping students recognize their strengths and love of learning. I believe my job is to facilitate students’ learning, as students are so capable—they just need someone to believe in them.
For me, as a child and student, I always studied so hard, but the grades would not come through. Now that I reflect as a teacher, I know I was not taught using my learning style or given the time I needed to truly master and love a skill or topic. These are huge priorities for me as a teacher.
Not only will I help a child learn, but I will work alongside them as we look at the WHOLE child and develop not only academically but also socially and emotionally. God created us all uniquely, and we all have different personalities, strengths, and weaknesses—all of which should be recognized and nurtured so we can truly be who God created us to be.
